The Knesset- The Government Building of Israel

In the conference room at the Knesset - So interesting to learn about their system of Government (which is pretty similar to ours)

Me and my Challah Bread! We LOVE the Jewish Bakeries around town!

In Mea Sherim- an Orthodox neighborhood.

Thanksgiving Dinner!

BYU J-REW

In Jordan, at the hotel... getting ready for winter!

A little bit of Kentucky in Ammon, Jordan! If you couldn't see on my face, I actually WASN'T very excited to eat this...

Sermon on the mount! We're studying the New Testament now!!! I love it!

We went on a field trip to the separation walls between Israeli and Palestinian settlements... The Green on this map is Palestine and Blue is Israel... The red line is the wall. I feel like this is a very good visual for the tensions of the area, and the complexity of finding a "solution" to this problem! The area up there called E-1 that is hashed is right near the center we live, and is a hoooot hot spot, because Israel wants to build settlements there and thus separate the Ramalah from Bethlehem.

Church of the Holy Sepulchral

Meat Market on the sides of the Old City streets! yes, that is a lamb head!

Lachich Reliefs in the Israel Museum! I have spent soooo much time in this museum... I wish I could put up all the pictures, but this is a replica showing the seige of the Assyrians of the City of Lachich. They were making their way to attack Jerusalem... The Assyrians were known for impaling and flaying the skin off their victims.... so here's a visual!

Dr. Seely, my favorite teacher!!! He and his wife are so fun- we had a dinner in a tent with them, and they had us laughing the whole time.

O Little Town of Bethlehem (yes, that is a star over head!!!)

Teaching English at a school down the road from the Center

I love coming here to teach and play with the kids!

Tyler and I and a bunch of our friends put together an act for the Talent Show! We did a song from Saturday's Warrior! check out the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itZV1r26GMc

Why Wally Kessler, you outta be ashamed of yourself!!!

This was definitly on my bucket list. Cheeeeeeck!

The treasury at Petra. We hiked through a canyon in a mountain desert land (much like Moab, Utah!) The canyon gets very narrow at some points and you walk through only seeing slivers of the sky, until all of the sudden you see this building cut into the mountain ahead and you come out in a breathtaking courtyard in the shadow of one of the seven wonders of the world!!!

I tried to kiss the camel.... and he kissed me back!

When I die, I want to be buried in the tombs of Petra

My new friend.

Loooooong hike to the monastery... had to take a few breaks!

Boy was this monastery worth the hike though!

Incredible that people were able to carve this! I loved being in Petra- I fell in love with it... the mountains and desert are SO gorgeous.

Needless to say... this was a GEORGEOUS view. (there were 2 signs at the bottom of this peak; one pointing to another peak that said "Best View!!!" and the one that pointed up here said "THE Best View"... It was pretty difficult to choose... so we hiked both!)

CAMEL TIME!!!

His name is Rambo...

...because he likes to Ram into the other camels!!! This guy seriously had it out for everyone in his path! He T boned this other kid's camel, and then B lined for a guy in a chair who had to quickly dive out of his chair and grab it from destruction.

I was selected by Pepsi Co. to model their newest line of "Ancient Roman City- Cola" Here. At Jerash. Cooling off with a coooooool bevvy.

The River Jordan.

It would have been really cool to be baptized again.

"Slicha, Slicha"... "Excuse me, excuse me, do you want to buy lemonade?" only 2 sheckels!

We met this sweet couple Rob and Wendy as they were traveling the world! We hung out with them for a few days and gave them some tours around the city!

My BFF Jonathan (aka Peter Pan)

We went to volunteer at a school for handicapped children. This is Daphna- she's 24 and has graduated from the school but still lives there. Angela and I helped in the pool area- where we helped support them as they floated around. Most of the children couldn't move on their own and this was a very stimulating activity with the lights and the water.
